My Greatest Triumph: Healing, Mentorship, and Empowering the Next Generation

If you ask me about my proudest achievement, it isn’t a specific career milestone, a feature in a magazine, or a finished design collection. My greatest triumph is my eating disorder recovery.
Recovery isn't a linear finish line; it is a choice to choose yourself over and over again. Having walked through that darkness and found my way to solid ground, I’ve gained a perspective I cherish deeply. I relate to addiction and the struggle with control on a level that can only be understood through experience. It is an earned understanding—one born from hard work, vulnerability, and eventual healing.
Today, for Wellness Month, I want to talk openly about what that recovery means to me now, and why it fuels my commitment to supporting young women.
Mentorship and Shared Experience
Surviving a struggle like an eating disorder leaves you with a responsibility: to reach back and help the people coming up behind you.
I regularly mentor women navigating their own recovery journeys and speak at workshops to share my story with addiction, healing, and self-acceptance. The pressure on young women today to look, act, and exist in specific, restrictive ways is immense. Being able to offer a safe space, real empathy, and proof that full recovery is possible is some of the most meaningful work I do.
When we talk openly about our past struggles, we strip them of their power and give others permission to heal.
Supporting Girls Inc.
At WILYMI, the idea of modern heirlooms extends beyond physical jewelry. It’s about what we build, protect, and pass down to future generations—including confidence, health, and emotional well-being.
That’s why we actively support Girls Inc., an organization dedicated to empowering young women to be strong, smart, and bold. Girls Inc. provides life-changing programming, mentorship, and safe environments that champion both the mental and physical health of girls, equipping them to navigate the modern world with resilience.
A portion of every single WILYMI purchase always goes directly to Girls Inc., helping fund the tools, workshops, and support systems young women need to thrive.
An Invitation to Give Back
As we extend our summer sale event, know that every order placed at wilymi.com contributes to this mission. Whether you are treating yourself to a daily staple piece or investing in a heirloom design, your support helps us continue giving back to young women on their own paths toward strength and self-love.
To anyone currently in the thick of their own struggle: healing is not only possible, but it is also waiting for you on the other side.
With love,
Ro
